Performance Profile
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Patrick Lopez began playing guitar by ear at age seven before discovering the trumpet in middle school. His training through Miami-Dade’s PAVAC gifted music program led to piano, vocals, and a multidimensional professional career. His performance and recording credits include Pitbull, Natalie Cole, Richie Ray, and Bobby Cruz, with television appearances on Sábado Gigante. An unexpected invitation from UNC–Chapel Hill jazz director Jim Ketch brought Patrick to the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne, and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Today, he performs as a trumpeter, pianist, vocalist, bandleader, DJ, and live entertainer through Patrick Lopez Live, DJ P-LO, and the Patrick Lopez Experience.
