Asheville, North Carolina….slowly becoming a stopping place for live music

I personally have seen quite a growth in the two years I have been here. from Jazz and Pop venues there is a definite place for all types of music to thrive in Asheville, NC. One of the great resources that I use is the website Explore Asheville.com Here you find  FROM BLUEGRASS TO NEWGRASS TO NOGRASS. A progressive and collaborative arts community, Asheville’s modern music scene melds old and new with surprising ease. Music permeates the city from the street musicians who serenade you downtown, to multi-generation bluegrass jam sessions, to a rock club (Orange Peel Social Aid and Pleasure Club) named one of the best in the country by Rolling Stone.

Today, Asheville’s music scene is all encompassing. Traditional mountain music still rings out from national artists such as David Holt and Laura Boosinger who live in the area. Classical music from the Asheville Symphony Orchestra fills the Thomas Wolfe Auditoriumthroughout the year.

This week I personally will be performing @ Lex 18. Its a great little cozy spot featuring one of my groups with Xpresso. we will do our Latin Jazz Party thing. Come out and enjoy some Patrick Lopez  this weekend.
